Catherine Geanuracos builds companies, technology and movements that respond to the most urgent issues of our times. As the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CityGrows, she’s leading a dynamic startup and building the first self-service SaaS workflow platform for local governments. CItyGrows brings government operations (permits, payments, forms, reviews, analytics) online with Github-inspired tech: cloud-hosted, free from up-front costs, collaborative and transparent.

Catherine’s first business was New Economy Campaigns, a full-service digital agency that created business and social impact through multi-platform campaigns. NEC successfully incubated civic and cause marketing initiatives including Hack for LA, WeHoX, Power Rangers emPOWER, Splunk4Good, and Swim Silver Lake. Clients included Millennium Hollywood, IMAX, the City of West Hollywood, and Saban Brands.

During 2015 Catherine served as the founding Chief Marketing Officer and subsequently the Chief Engagement Officer for venture-backed startup Science 37.

Prior to New Economy, Catherine oversaw multiple components of Live Earth during three years as its General Manager. From 2004-2006, she helped to shape innovative programs for, using technology to expand opportunities for political engagement. While in San Francisco, she managed an HIV prevention research study at UCSF and served as the Co-Chair of the SF HIV Health Services Planning Council. She was the founding CTO of

She served as the Vice President of the City of Los Angeles Innovation and Performance Commission, is a member of the Mayor’s Technology Advisory Council, and Chair of the Board of CicLAvia. She advises the Aspen Institute for Urban Innovation and the California Community Foundation’s LA Counts regional data initiative.

She speaks regularly on civic technology and civic innovation. She lives with her boyfriend, 2 pups, and no car in LA.
